Setting a CenturyLink C3000Z Modem/Router to Bridge Mode

Setting a CenturyLink C3000Z Modem/Router to Bridge Mode

To put a CenturyLink C3000Z modem/router into bridge mode, navigate to the Advanced Setup > WAN Settings, and set the ISP protocol to "Transparent Bridging". This disables the router functionality, effectively turning the device into a modem. You'll then need to connect your own router to the C3000Z's Ethernet port and configure it for PPPoE using the credentials from the CenturyLink setup.

Detailed Steps:
1. Log in to the C3000Z:
Access the device's web interface (usually by going to http://192.168.0.1) in a web browser and using the admin credentials found on the device's sticker).

2. Disable Wireless:
Go to "Wireless Setup" and disable both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz channels, then click "Apply," according to a post on Reddit.

3. Enable Transparent Bridging:
Navigate to "Advanced Setup" > "WAN Settings" and set "ISP protocol" to "Transparent Bridging". Click "Apply" to save the changes.

4. Connect Your Router:
Connect the C3000Z's Ethernet port (usually port 1) to the WAN port of your own router.

5. Configure Your Router:
Configure your router to connect using PPPoE, using the username and password provided by CenturyLink.
